Wide screen with touch
screen features (touchscreen)? Ah,
that's normal. What about the screen that wraps nearly
the entire surface of the smartphone?
This concept to
be patented by Apple. The advantage is
to enlarge the viewable area (viewing
area) and eliminating
the need for physical buttons.
As shown in
the figure, the concept of imaginary
future Apple devices
using display technology
that is planted in a curved body to the smartphone
so that "wraps" the majority of the surface, including the edges.
In this way, the
physical buttons can be replaced by "virtual
keys" in the form of icons displayed on the screen.
According to the
patent filing documents,
to "wrap" the internal components in the screen, the functionality of the device can be improved so
that the concept of "beyond the surface".
This design
also eliminates the frame or bezel that usually surrounds
the smartphone screen and slightly reduce the
size of the display.
Previously, Samsung,
Apple's rivals, have
demonstrated that curved display technology can be applied to the concept of
a smartphone. Apple also has patented similar technology, the glass screen that
