Russian warships leave Iran

Ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet had left the port of Bandar Abbas, Iran, where they conduct a two-day visit, the press service said East Military District told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

"A group of Pacific Fleet ships consisting of an anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleyev large and large landing ships and Admiral Nevelskoi Peresvet has ended a scheduled visit to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, an officer said the press service.

Two days earlier, support ships and Pechenga Pacific Fleet Foty Krylov had left the port of Salalah, Oman.

Warships and support ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet will meet at a designated place in the Indian Ocean.

After that they will head to the Mediterranean Sea to join a Russian naval task force there.
