Accused Merompak, Nine Indonesians Arrested Malaysia


Nine citizens of Indonesia (WNI) officers arrested Penguatkuasaan Malaysian Maritime Agency (APMM) early Monday, June 10, 2013. Indonesians arrested for alleged attempted piracy in the waters of Tanjung Ayam, Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
 
Head of Protocol, Public Relations and trial Bakorkamla, Marine Colonel Edi Permadi confirmed the news of the arrest. According to him, nine citizens, one of whom identified as Adi Candra, boat operators beheaded in local harbors Stress Beach, Houses, APMM officer arrested for allegedly about to commit piracy in the waters of Malaysia.
"The information we get from LO police in Johor Malaysia, nine citizen is arrested for allegedly going to merompak. Arrests were confirmed by CCTV footage APMM," Edi said when contacted on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
When mentioned about the steps taken related Bakorkamla nine citizen's arrest, Edi said the case will be prosecuted in force in Malaysia Police.
"If there is a problem on our fishermen MoU with the Malaysian government, but the case has entered the realm of criminal and will be processed according to the rules of law in Malaysia," he explained.
Meanwhile, Budi, a relative Adi Candra in Batam when it was confirmed he did not know the exact whereabouts of his family, because the family just got word Adi Marine officer arrested Polis Malaysia via SMS text message.
"I got word Bang Adi Malaysia Marine arrested Polis of SMS messages, he said officers arrested for illegal entry into Malaysian waters," said Budi.
He explained, as set out on Monday, Adi admitted going to take eight people to Aquatic Outer Port Limit (OPL), but until now have not been returned and claimed Adi detained Malaysian Marine Policy.
"Time to deliver eight passengers OPL, Bang Adi People departing from the Port of Tanjung Uma," he said.
