Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, has decided that the male head coverings can be worn in a game, a decision that was contrary to the ban on wearing turban by Quebec, Canada.
FIFA says male players must wear headgear as long as the same color as team uniforms, look "professional," not attached to the shirt and not "pose a hazard." Canadian football federation has asked FIFA to make a decision on the issue after Quebec was not willing to overturn the ban on wearing turbans in the entire province as reported by the VOA.
Brigitte Frot, Director General of the Quebec provincial football association, said the provincial federation that would allow the use of turban if FIFA take it safely. The ban mainly affects the Sikh men who wear turbans for religious reasons.
