President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono performed a fast breaking program along with First
Lady, Ani Yudhoyono, community, regional leaders and public figures
during his Ramadan safari here on Wednesday.
Prior to the fast breaking, the president visited PT Mitra Dua Tujuh, an agricultural products maker such as edamame (Japanese typical beans) in Mangli village, Jember District East Java province.
The fast breaking along with the Bondowoso community was one of the president`s agenda on the second day of his Ramadan safari in East Java.
Qur`an reading as well as religious lectures were conducted by post graduate lecturer of Jember Islamic Higher Learning Institute (STAIN) KH Abdullah Syamsul Arifin.
On the occasion the head of state called on the Muslims to adhere their religion in accordance with the word of Allah (God Almighty) and the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad.
Earlier, the president also inspected a sugar mill in Lumajang district, East Java.
The President`s entourage included Industry Minister MS Hidayat, Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan, Agriculture Minister Suswono, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sharif Cicip Soetardjo, and Education and Culture Minister M Nuh.
