10 Countries with Fastest Internet


Akamai Technologies, provider network based in the United States released the report "State of the Internet" describes the latest countries that have the fastest internet connection speed.
Of the report revealed East Asian countries top the subscription "royal" bandwidth, such as South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong, still a country with the three fastest internet connection in the world.
South Korea is still a country with the fastest average connection around the world in the 4th quarter of 2012. Average Internet speeds in the country "K-Pop" is at 14 megabits per second.
Even so, the average speed of the internet in South Korea actually decreased slightly. When compared with the 3rd quarter of 2012, the average speed of the internet in South Korea declined 4.8 percent.
When compared with the same quarter in 2011, the speed of the internet in South Korea declined quite far, which is about 13 percent.
For your information, the internet speed unit listed in the Akamai report is Mb (M in capital letters and in lowercase b). It symbolizes Megabit unit. If want to convert to units of MB (both capital letters) or Megabyte, the numbers must be divisible by 8 Megabit first. Thus, the average Internet speed in South Korea is 14 megabits per second or 1.75 megabytes per second.
Japan, a country that had just released the fastest internet connection service in the world, is ranked second in the Akamai report. The average internet speed in the country is 10.8 Mb per second, up 3.4 percent from the previous quarter, and 19 percent from the same quarter in 2011.
Quoted from Tech Crunch, Thursday (04/25/2013), Hong Kong is ranked third in the report. However, the average speed in the country is not able to break the 10 Mb per second. Hong Kong is only able to deliver internet speed 9.3 Mb per second, an increase of 3.4 percent from the previous quarter, and 5.4 percent in the previous year.
Other countries that are in this list is Latvia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, United States, Sweden, and Finland. Internet speed in the country was among 7 Mb to 9 Mb per second per second.
In total, the average internet speed in the world is 2.9 Mb per second, an increase of 5 percent from the previous quarter, and increased to 25 percent higher than the same quarter in 2011.
