FBI Not-Be Eye-Spy Hacker from "Webcam"

Effort the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to spy on the action of hacking computer security system through a computer web camera (webcam) can not be executed. In late April 2013, a U.S. judge refused the FBI's request to install a spy program that works on a computer webcam unexpected hackers (hackers).

As quoted by Ars Technica, the program is able to act as a spy unit activate webcam, accessing storage media, as well as let you know the location of the computer to the FBI agent.

Apparently, the judge named Stephen Smith assess the program was too similar to the malicious programs that record online activities (spyware) Remote Administration Tool (RAT). This kind of program usually used irresponsible people to spy on other people via webcam.

Earlier, in March, the FBI filed a writ petition in Judge Smith to investigate the possibility of "bank fraud, identity theft, and violation of computer security legislation" by a hacker unexpected.

However, the FBI has not revealed the name of the original perpetrators of hacking. Unexpectedly called only by the pseudonym "John Due." He allegedly lived in the southern district of Texas and tried to transfer funds from a local bank in the state to the account of a foreign bank.

Judge Smith assess the demand for the FBI to plant spy program is too broad and invasive. Moreover, the FBI did not know for sure the identity of a target person.

Judge Smith highlighted the possibility of false accusations that could arise from the use of this program, for example, when the computer is turned out to be shared with others who do not know anything about cyber crime in question.

Some have questioned the purpose and objective of the FBI's request. A cyber security analyst Chris Soghoian of the American Civil Liberties Union, said the spy action plan proposed by the FBI should be done as a last resort, not the first action in dealing with an allegation.
