The first request for an eight Army helicopters Ka-50 have been met. In 2005, 12 Ka-52 also had to be bought by the Russian Air Force special operations for the benefit, but the funds have cut their purchases. In late 2008, the Russian Air Force already operates 15 helicopters Ka-50 and Ka-10 helicopters 52.

Night fighter version of the Ka-50N, Samshit-50T is equipped with a thermal imager, day TV and laser rangefinder, and Kanov also have collaborated with Israel Aviation Industry (IAI) to create a version of the Ka-50-2 Erdogan that is compatible with NATO weapons and cockpit made by Israel. Design Ka-50 Combat Helicopter
Coaxial rotor design provides the ability to fly at a height of 4,000 m and rises vertically as high as 10 m / sec at 2,500 m altitude. Propellers are made of a polymer material. Coaxial rotor configuration results in moments of inertia relative value between the vertical and lateral axes are 1.5 to 2 times smaller than the value of a single berotor helicopter with tail rotor. The absence of a tail rotor on the Ka-50 allows helikoter to do a flat spin at full speed. Maximum vertical g-load of 3.5 combined with a low moment of inertia give the Ka-50 a high level of agility.
