Each year, Pertamina imported 775 metric tons of asphalt

PT Pertamina revealed each year to import bitumen to meet domestic demand. Because the company's refinery in Cilacap have only capable of producing 345,000 metric tons of asphalt per year.
"Domestic demand (request) 1.1 million metric tons per year, Cilacap refinery production of 345,000 metric tons, the rest is filled with imports," said Manager of Bitumen Trading Pertamina Joko Pitoyo in the building of Pertamina, Jakarta, Friday (29/6).
According to Joko, Pertamina imports from ASEAN countries, the Middle East, Tibet and Korea. He could not disclose the price per metric tonne of certainty because it is through the tender process.
Minimum price per metric tonne, he predicts about USD 648 per metric ton. Joko ensure the relatively lower price than the selling price in the country.
Besides in Cilacap, Pertamina also has a loco depot in Gresik. In which each of the selling price to different consumers.
"The price per metric tonne of some prices, in Gresik because of Cilacap thus requiring transport cost. Prices in Cilacap USD 655 per metric ton, while the price in Gresik USD 686 per metric ton," said Joko.
