Iranian Air Defense Systems Production Soon Herz-9


Production line for a new air defense system Herz (Protector) 9, will be unveiled in a special ceremony attended by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi today. At last Tuesday, Iran's Defense Ministry announced that Iran plans to launch five new defensive weapons system in the next few days.

Also, last month, a senior Iranian military commander announced that the country would reveal an air defense missile system similar to Russia's S-300 in the near future. "This system, known as Bavar (Belief) 373, is being developed in the country and will be launched officially," said Rear Admiral Farhad Amiri.

He said that the current missile defense system Bavar-373 has entered the stage of production and subsistence were also tested.

Earlier this year, a senior Iranian military officials announced that Iran was testing a subsystem of Bavar 373 missile defense system. Air defense base commander of Khatam ol-Anbiya Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli said later that "lab testing is underway for the subsystem of long-range air defense system Bavar 373".

Iran's Armed Forces also recently test-fired different types of new missiles and torpedoes and tested a large number of defense equipment domestically, equipments, including submarines, surface warships, artillery, helicopters, aircraft, UAVs and air defense electronic systems when large-scale military exercises.

Defense analysts and military observers say that "wargames" and Iran's progress in producing weapons has been proven as a deterrent, especially for the high face of the U.S. threat.
