Russian-Turkish Air Defense System Ready to Build Same with the S-300


Russia is ready together with Turkey to develop long-range air defense system based on surface missile systems-to-air S-300, it is revealed the head of the Russian defense equipment exports (Rosoboronexport) Sergei Ladygin on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Turkey has long held a tender for the purchase of long-range air defense systems, but until now there is no winner is announced,.

"Russia is ready to offer a portion of the Russian-Turkish tender product (air defense systems) are based on the S-300VM system. Example, to integrate air defense systems (S-300VM) in vehicle / Turkish military equipment," said Ladygin at gun shows in the capital Lima Peru.
 
S-300VM/Antey 2500 air defense system (SA-23 Gladiator) is equipped with a new type of vehicle, advanced radar array and six launchers for each vehicle. 


Rosoboronexport also said that Russia and Turkey collaborative effort is also to promote air defense systems in third countries markets, he said. "That is, it is possible to discuss the sale of licenses for the production of this system in other countries in the world," he said.

The next version of the S-300 missile system, called S-300PMU1, has a range of over 150 kilometers and can intercept ballistic missiles and aircraft at low and high altitude, thus effectively transform and ward off air attacks.
