Netanyahu warned the West about Iran's new president

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday warned the international community to keep pressure on Iran despite the country has just had a moderate and a reformist president Hassan Rouhani.

Netanyahu says Iran's nuclear program must be stopped, and not have to spend time looking at the victory Rouhani, as reported by the BBC, Monday (17/6).

"The international community must not slacken pressure to halt Iran's nuclear program," he said.

Rouhani won more than 50 percent of the vote in the presidential election three days ago. He said the victory was a moderate success defeating extremists groups.

One of the previous campaign promises Rouhani is loosen international sanctions against Iran because of its nuclear program. He also promised to strengthen ties with the power of the West.

Israeli President Shimon Peres said Rouhani victory will bring change to Iran.

"He said he would not continue the policy of extremes. Policy I am sure he will be better. Which is why the Iranian people chose it."
