Pakistan Bomber Kills 10 in Shi'ite Mosque

Peshawar, Pakistan
A suicide bomber has attacked a Shi'ite Muslim mosque and religious seminary in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least 10 people and wounding at least 25 others.
Police officials say the attacker first opened fire on guards at the complex in Peshawar, and then detonated his explosives amid the worshippers who had gathered for Friday prayers.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but radical Sunni Muslims who consider Shi'ites to be heretics have stepped up attacks against the minority Shi'ites in recent years.

Extremist Sunni militant faction Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has claimed responsibility for a series of bloody attacks on Shi'ites in the southwestern city of Quetta that killed at least 25 people earlier this month.
