Puna Wulung Soon Operated 2013

Puna Wulung, BPPT drone works.
Considering Indonesia has long mastered the technology of aerospace, this country is naturally able to make unmanned aircraft (drones) itself. A good news we received last October when Nir Aircraft Crew (Puna) artificial Wulung BPPT successfully trialled at Halim air base. Now the drones-we call it Wulung-soon to be put into operation in 2013.
The aircraft is considered very important by Indonesia because many areas of the country that can not be reached by human. Areas that are difficult to reach, among others, located on the volcano. In fact, these areas often need to be visited for research purposes. This is only the first step, "Wulung-wulung" will be filled next defense equipment owned by the TNI.
In Sampit, Central Kalimantan East Kotawaringin, Research and Technology Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta said the drone capability (Wulung) BPPT made no doubt. The reason, the drone has been tested in Halim Air Base, Jakarta, on October 11, 2012 last.
"Unmanned aircraft are named Wulung specially designed and highly sophisticated, so has the remarkable ability compared to existing aircraft," said Minister of Technology.
Wulung, which is operated by remote control but can be a spy plane, the plane will also be used for aerial photography of the area and extinguishing forest fires and land. This aircraft has the ability to fly non-stop for 4 hours and can be used to create artificial rain.
"With these aircraft eventually extinguishing forest fires and artificial rain-making no longer need to sprinkle salt on the cloud, and we have found a replacement material, which is named pleer," he said. Pleer every one kilogram is equal to one kilogram of salt and tons of aircraft capable of carrying eight kilograms Wulung pleer.

Puna Wulung.
Wulung maximum distance is 70 kilometers, with a cruising speed of 52-69 knots. Puna Wulung can be controlled with a distance of 73 kilometers from the remote control. Wulung able to fly up to a height of 12 thousand feet, and that has been tested as high as 8,000 feet.
BPPT has made five similar aircraft, and costs incurred to five similar aircraft ranging from billion-Rp.8 Rp.6 billion. Wulung 2-stroke engine wear and to obtain optimum power, fuel used is pertamax. However, while testing at Halim, Puna noise level terms have not been enough for military use, whether current.
Wulung materials using composite materials (glass fiber composition, fiber, carbon) to obtain a lightweight aircraft structures.
Previously, according to Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Puna autopilot can be used for military purposes, in particular the observation area (Surveillance) of the air because it has been equipped with advanced camera for projecting field. Even function can replace aircraft that became unmaned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UAV).
The successful development of aircraft Puna also has many advantages. Of which have high economic value, reduce dependence on producer countries that have been the supplier of military armaments. Also flexible in its development, increasing the role of domestic industry as well as in an emergency can be operated independently.
