Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the number of tourist arrivals to Indonesia during May 2013 reached 700,700 visits. The
amount is up by 7.65 percent when compared to the number of visits of
foreign tourists in the same period of the previous year to reach 650.9
thousand visits.
Suryamin BPS chief said the number of visits in May rose 8.45 percent compared to April 2013 the number of visits.
"Cumulatively from January to May, the number of foreign tourists reached 3.36 million visits, up 5.79 percent compared to the same period of foreign tourists visit the previous year, totaling 3.18 million visits," he said at the BPS Office, Jakarta, Monday ( seventh).
Number of foreign tourists visiting Bali via Ngurah Rai Airport in May 2013 rose by 11.05 percent compared to May 2012. Number of foreign tourists visiting Bali rose from 220,500 to 244,900 visits.
"When compared to April 2013, the number of foreign tourists visiting Bali via Ngurah Rai Airport also rose by 2.29 per cent," he added.
