Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei asserted, the war is happening in Syria is not a conflict between Shiites with Sunnis.
"Actually, both sides of the conflict in Syria is not the Shia and Sunni, but they are among the supporters and opponents of the anti-Zionist resistance,'' said Ali Khamenei in the Opening Ceremony of the Conference of Islamic Scholars and Resurrection, (29/4).
According to him, the campaign and propaganda of the Western media and their auxiliaries, as well as mercenaries in the region gamely asserted that the devastating war in Syria is the Shia-Sunni conflict.
