Virgin Galactic announced ticket prices SpaceShipTwo spacecraft will rise 25 percent within the next week, reported by Space, May 2, 2013.

Initially, airfares only U.S. $ 200,000, equivalent to R1, 9 billion. That is, starting next week the price will be U.S. $ 250,000, equivalent to Rp2, 5 billion per person.

The price increase was motivated by the success of the pilot of the plane that carried SpaceShipTwo at the Mojave Air and Space Port in Mojave, California, USA. Because of the trial, immediately flooded Virgin praise and positive response from many quarters.

"Next week, the company will set a new price of U.S. $ 250,000 for the first 1,000 people who will be flown. Increase in price is very good for the progress of the company in the future," said Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Galactic.

According to Virgin Galactic website, currently, there are already 580 people who provide deposits to make the flight with SpaceShipTwo.

"In the future, prices will not rise above U.S. $ 250,000. Fact, we hope that in the future the price could drop to the initial price of U.S. $ 200,000, so that space flight has more interest," said Branson.

SpaceShipTwo is designed to use electric motors to launch rockets. The aircraft can carry six passengers and two pilots. The aircraft will fly to reach a height of 361,000 feet, the equivalent of 110 kilometers.

The first successful test of SpaceShipTwo makes Virgin flooded registrants to fly into space. If on schedule, SpaceShipTwo start commercial operation by the end of 2013 or early 2014.
