Mobile operator XL Axiata announced that customers data services (internet) has now reached 29.1 million or nearly 60 percent of total subscribers XL. In 2013, XL prioritize the expansion of data services infrastructure.
In the first quarter financial report, 2013, Wednesday (30/04/2013), XL recorded a revenue growth of 2 percent year-over-year to Rp 5.05 trillion. This is triggered by the increase in revenue from data services by 16 percent.
President Director of XL Axiata Hasnul Suhaimi, said growth contribution from data services reflects the direction of the business and the opportunities that can be exploited XL for data services in the future.
"The use of data services in Indonesia increased from time to time, including in XL, which led to an increase in traffic by 40%," said Hasnul in a press release received KompasTekno. He added that there is an increase in data revenue contribution to 22 percent compared to last year by 19 percent.
Until the first quarter of 2013, XL has a BTS 39 819, including 13 295 Node B to serve the customer data.
"The increasing demand for the use of data services, also indicate a trend change in people's behavior that makes data services as part of their daily lifestyle," said Hasnul.
To meet these needs, he added, XL sought to develop mobile digital services in the field of finance, commerce, and M2M (machine to machine).
For Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) for the first quarter of 2013 amounted to Rp 2 trillion, with an EBITDA margin of 40% and a net profit of Rp 316 billion.
XL has spent Rp 1.98 trillion for investment in the first quarter of 2013, most of which use internal funds. During the first quarter of 2013, XL has signed a new loan agreement with Bank Mandiri rupiah in January 2013 amounting to Rp 500 billion and Rp 2.5 trillion.
XL also has signed a new credit agreement with BTMU dollars by 110 million U.S. dollars in March 2013. Because of this, and the amount of debt financing activities XL increased to Rp 14.7 trillion from Rp 11.5 trillion in the previous year, and net debt / EBITDA 1.5x xmenjadi increased from 1.0 in the first quarter of 2013.
