"In Indonesia, the smartphone is considered as a communication device while the tablet is used primarily for the purpose of playing games, entertainment, and social networking," said Andry, citing results of its survey conducted in December last year.

Andry said, by presenting an 8-inch tablet, Samsung hopes to combine aspects of entertainment and productivity in a tablet. "Size 8 inches was ideal, it is still easy to carry everywhere."
