Election Iran, Mohammad-Reza Aref Clear Participate


Mohammad-Reza Aref, one of the presidential candidates in the Iranian election June 14, 2013, resigned as a participant election after receiving advice from former reformist president Mohammad Khatami. This information is obtained from the website Aref on Tuesday morning local time, June 11, 2013.

In recent days, there is a number of calls from reformist groups in order to Aref withdrew from his candidacy and support another candidate that Hassan Rouhani.

Aref is the second person who withdrew from the race in two days. Earlier, former parliament speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad Adel who has close to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei resigned on Monday, June 10, 2013.

Khatami Advisory Council in a statement said that they provide support to Rouhani as a candidate of the reformist camp.

Rouhani is a former Iranian top nuclear negotiator under Khatami leadership. He was also a top security official in the reign of former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

Iranian Presidential election to be held on June 14, 2013 will be followed by six candidates after two other candidates, Mohammad-Reza Aref and Gholam-Ali Haddad Adel resigned.
