President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) meets with a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) from Guangxi Province. The meeting was conducted to improve trade relations between the two countries.
"I'm getting reports that the father with the delegation visited Indonesia this time to increase the cooperation between Indonesia and China, particularly in the economic and socio-cultural," said SBY to meet with CPC delegation at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Monday (17/6).
In a conversation that lasted one hour, the President had expressed his wish to enhance the partnership between the two countries' business elements. Moreover, the value of trade between Indonesia and China has exceeded $ 500 million per year.
"I think fathers agree with me, well and growing partnerships, for example, trading volume of more than USD 500 million, the large volume," he said.
CPC delegation from Guangxi Province headed by the Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Peng Qinghua. Group politician was accompanied by the Ambassador of the PRC to Indonesia Liu Jianchao, Director General of Foreign Affairs Guangxi Li Wenjie.
On the government side, the president was accompanied by several key officials of the economy, namely the Minister of Industry MS Hidayat, Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan, as well as Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa.
The bilateral meeting was also attended by businessmen that the country has an intense relationship with the investment and Chinese businessmen. Among these are the Sinar Mas Group that directly led President Oesman Franky Widjaja.
According to official data released by the Chinese government, in the period of December 2012, China's trade exports rose 14.1 percent from a year ago.
China's economic growth this year is predicted to increase 8.5 percent. That is, the flow of products from China into the country is also likely to be greater.
Last year, the value of Indonesia-China trade amounted to USD 600 million. Indonesia biggest total non-oil imports also come from China, reaching USD 26 billion.
