Iran Launches Ship Destroyer Bayandor


Iran's Navy on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, launched a destroyer named Bayandor upgrade results in the waters south of the country before the Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi and Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.

Iranian military officials said the Iranian Navy forces in terms of securing the territorial waters of the country and maintain security at regional and international waters will increase after the launch Bayandor.

Major engine overhaul, heat exchangers, and fuel system, and optimize control system monitoring is performed several upgrades before the destroyer was launched.

Navy experts also install a new fire control system for the destroyers, a 40 mm cannon and 76 mm and missile system surface-to-surface Nour. 

 
Last May, Sayyari has said that Iran could use Bayandor destroyers to carry out missions in international waters in the future.

He said the destroyers are also equipped with domestically-made equipment such as missiles, torpedoes, artillery, sonar and communications systems and other information.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and reached self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and other systems.

Iran's first home-made destroyer, Jamaran, was launched in late February 2010. Mowdge destroyers of this class has a weight of about 14,000 tons displacement and is equipped with modern radars and electronic warfare capabilities and is armed with a variety of anti-ship missiles, missile surface-to-surface missiles and surface-to-air.

Iran's defense ministry officials had previously said that the third-generation destroyer Jamaran, Jamaran-3, will begin operating by the end of this year.
