Jakarta potential for luxurious yacht business

Marine tourism sector is still promising benefits to government, if dealt with seriously and professionally. Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo has asked Regent of Kepulauan Seribu, Asep Syarifudin to work on tourism.

In line with the request, Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Basuki T Purnama is thinking about development of marine tourism with yachts. The first Indonesia Yachts Show took place last weekend in Jakarta. 

"We are outnumbered by the Philippines in terms of ship business. So we have to take the lead," Purnama said in Jakarta.

Yachts rental business is very profitable. There is a growing amount of highly affluent local where many Indonesians and expats in Indonesia are searching for yachts. 

Organizer of Indonesia Yachts Show, Syelly Phie explained, this event was intended to introduce the types of cruises from inside and outside the country, as well as develop Indonesian marine tourism. As a maritime nation, sailing on yachts is one of the best ways to enjoy the natural beauty of Indonesia.
