Minister Dahlan Iskan held dialogs with Madura ulemas and social figures
on Saturday as part of his Ramadhan safari.
The dialogs took place at the Salafiyah Al Hamidy Islamic boarding school in Banyuanyar area 7 km from the capital of Pamekasan district.
The minister and entourage arrived at the Islamic boarding school at around 01.30 p.m. and later held dialogs with ulemas and social figures in the district.
At the dialogs, Dahlan disclosed the purpose of his visit to the island.
"We come here to ask for support from ulemas as the government has entrusted me to manage state assets," he said.
He said state owned companies` assets across the countries are currently estimated at Rp3,700 trillion.
The state firms which number around 400 are engaged among others in banking, port, airport, telecommunication, railway, oil and gas sectors.
The minister and entourage are expected to break the fast at the meeting hall of the Pamekasan district administration after the dialogs.
He will later proceed his Ramadhan safari to Sampang district which is also on the island to hold dialogs with ulemas.
