Hundreds of
passengers gathered at Ngurah Rai Airport of Bali Province, before its
closure for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) delegation
return flights.
"At least 181 flights have been cancelled and 59 others have been rescheduled by several airways. The airport will be closed from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. local time," said Public Relations Officer of PT Angkasa Pura I at Ngurah Rai Airport Sherly Yuanita on Tuesday.
According to her, passengers have gathered at domestic and international flight gates.
Despite the cancellation of flights by Angkasa Pura I officer, several stores at the airport remained open for passengers.
Meanwhile, the police and the Indonesian military secured several areas in Bali, particularly along the streets in Nusa Dua and Ngurah Rai Airport.
