UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said in a new release until now, Lebanon accommodate 453,000 Syrian refugees. This figure, wrote the AP on Saturday (05/04/2013), up 9,000 people than a week ago.
Then, out of that number, 343,000 refugees registered with UNHCR. Then, another 110,000 are still waiting completeness of the data to obtain the status of "refugee".
The majority of the refugees, sheltered in camps northeastern Lebanon. In Beirut and surrounding areas, the number of refugees who are accommodated reached 48,000 inhabitants.
Lebanon, at this time, asking for international assistance to support the lives of the refugees. There is already a demand for 370 million U.S. dollars to the Arab countries for this purpose, the UN special envoy to Lebanon Derek Plumbly.
