5 Countries Keen CN-295 Artificial PT DI


Five ASEAN countries expressed interest and the interest of the CN-295 aircraft made by PT Indonesian Aerospace. It was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense Sjafrie in the Ministry of Defense, Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

These five countries namely Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Thailand. According to Sjafrie, it is the result of its roadshow activity that has received a concrete response.

"Especially the introduction of the CN-295 aircraft have been acquired interests in five states for the Air Force and the Police," said Sjafrie.

According to Sjafrie, CN-295 can be used for humanitarian operations and military interests. Home-built aircraft is priced at U.S. $ 30 million.

Excess CN-295, among others, can be landed on the grass along the runway 650 meters, has a 9 ton capacity, and is capable of flying 9 hours non-stop.

"This aircraft can carry 71 or 50 jumpers jumper, and can carry two types of sedan cars," he said.

At the end of 2014, the Ministry of Defence will also do a demo flight CN-295 in Brunei Darussalam.

"For five countries have expressed interest in the CN-295 will send observation teams for technical and administrative discussions with PT DI," he said.

2 National Project

The Ministry of Defence is also currently discussing the development of technology transfer submarines and fighter aircraft KF-X/IF-X.

Indonesia currently has two submarines. Looking ahead, Indonesia will cooperate with Korean Selaran to make three submarines.

"Of the three that we created in collaboration with the South, the submarines will be made in Indonesia, namely PT PAL in Surabaya," said Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro.

Purnomo hope the next 1-2 years the submarine can be made in Indonesia. To that end, the government is preparing its infrastructure.

As for KF-X/IF-X fighter, the government will cooperate with Korea. KF-X/IF-X a 4.5 generation fighter aircraft.

"It's more sophisticated than F16 and Sukhoi," Purnomo said proudly.
