68 Percent of parents never explain sex to children

Explain about sex or sexual intercourse in children is not easy. All parents have a difficult time when their children start asking various things related to sex. Apparently this is experienced by almost all parents in the world, both in Asia, as well as in the west.

A U.S. study showed that 68 percent of parents never tried to explain about sex to their children. Most of them feel embarrassed to explain. In fact, about 47 percent of parents believe that the school has full responsibility for teaching children about sexual intercourse.

This result is known based on a survey conducted by CouponCodes4u on 2,305 parents who had at least one child over the age of 12 years, as reported by the Daily Mail (11/06).
About 44 percent of parents argued that they are too embarrassed to discuss sex with children. About 27 percent said that they stay away from the topic because of religious reasons. While 11 percent of parents do not want to explain it because it did not believe that children need a sex lesson.

Interestingly, 15 percent of parents believe other family members such as brothers could be a reference for their children to learn about sex. More than a fifth believe their children can learn from their peers. While more than 11 percent of parents feel television and the internet can provide a lesson about sex on the child.

Although discussions about sex with children is one thing that parents feared, but more than 62 percent of parents agreed that sex education is important for children. Only 18 percent of parents said that they had just learned the lesson that when adult. So, how old are suitable for children to begin to learn about sex?

Approximately 49 percent of parents think children should begin to understand sex when aged 10 or 15 years. Approximately 37 percent of parents also believe that teaching about sex directly on the child to prevent the child may also seek information from other sources, which could be wrong and encourage them to do that is not true.

How do you think, parents? Do you also have a hard time giving lessons to children about sex? Or you belong to the parents who do not agree with sex education in children? Share your opinions and experiences in the comments.
