Argentina Supporters Killed in Feud with Police


A spectator was killed and another injured when a fight broke out between police and hooligans "Barrabravas" in the Argentine first division match in La Plata on Tuesday (11/6) morning GMT.

The match between Estudiantes with Lanus stopped in mid-game after officials heard no news of the death of spectators at the Ciudad de La Plata stadium in the capital of the province of Buenos Aires.

"Police reported a spectator (Lanus) died and because this situation it is important to stop the match," said Estudiantes president Enrique Lombardi, told reporters. "It's based on a decision between the two clubs.'s For humanitarian reasons," he said.

This is the second game that was stopped in three days, after the game Saturday (8/6) at Velez Sarsfield was stopped because visiting fans rioting All Boys.

Local media reported that a fight between supporters of Lanus and police have started happening before the game started and a spectator when it suffered very serious injuries.
