Egypt's seven million citizens signed petitions demanded Mursi retreat


Thousands of volunteers took to the streets, train stations, hospitals and even to Egypt across the sheet to distribute black-and-white form in order to collect petition signatures supporting residents lowering President Mohammed Mursi.

A group calling themselves "Tamarod" or means "rebels" in Arabic into collecting signatures in opposition to the campaign people "Tajarod" or "Neutral" Mursi called for before, as reported by Al Arabiya television on Thursday (6/6).

Tamarod group reflects dissatisfaction over the leadership Mursi people who make the Egyptian economy more difficult, widespread fuel restrictions, and reduced sense of security.

Wave of massive demonstrations earlier this year raised a young group and opposition groups are progressively depleted due to a number of arrests by the security forces.

Campaigners now hope the signature collection campaign could be a signal that indicates the anti-Mursi became stronger. The group also plans to hold a massive demonstration June 30, the anniversary of the ruling Mursi.

A truck driver who was driving the vehicle and immediately stop rushing to the volunteers in the capital Cairo to put the name and signature on the petition sheet.

"We can not find food," he said yesterday.

Tamarod claimed so far has collected seven million signatures and expects to reach 15 million or approximately two million more than sura obtained Mursi in the last presidential election. Mursi last year earned 52 percent of the votes of the 90 million population of Egypt in the presidential election.
