PDIP: Soekarno was not a Marxist

PDIP deputy secretary general Ahmad denied Basyarah Sukarno said to be a Marxist. He even refers to the view based on the fact ahistorical.

"If it is said Soekarno a Marxist, I guess it is a fact that can be said to be ahistorical," said Basyarah the celebration of the 6th anniversary of Baitul Muslimin Indonesia (BMI) in Jewel, Jakarta, Friday (29/3).

Basyarah asserted, Soekarno lifetime pass as a Muslim. According to him, the spirit of nationalism that echoed Soekarno based on the teachings of Islam.

Additionally, Basyarah called Soekarno was able to figure the teachings of Islam in the state concept. In fact, according to him, is a figure of Soekarno synthesis between Islam and nationalism.

"Even when Sukarno died, he asked his remains shrouded coffin with banners Muhammadiyah. And I think, NU has never revoked a title for Soekarno as Waliyul bi Amri Addhoruri Shaukati," he concluded.
