Indonesian citizens in Papua New Guinea to the Forbidden Border


Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) prohibits traditional border crossers from Indonesia entered its territory. The reason, Traditional Border Crossing Card (TBC) are used by the traditional border crossers considered no longer valid.
Described Indonesian Consulate in Vanimo, Jahar Gultom, the PNG government has decided border crossers card validity period is only until March 18, 2013.
"So the PNG border officers at the border post Skouw Wutung Jayapura prohibit citizens from cross-border cardholder Indonesia to PNG," says Jahar, Wednesday, April 25, 2013.
Jahar deplore the PNG government policy. According to him, Indonesia and PNG citizens living in the border region have kinship, kinship culture that knows no national boundaries.
According Gultom, it had coordinated with administrators border Vanimo, Moses Poi. However, according to Moses, before the signing of a new agreement between the Indonesian government and the PNG government, the traditional border crossers cardholder TB of Indonesia banned from PNG.

Based on the basic agreement between the Governments of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea on Settings-Setting Border dated March 18, 2003, border crossers card is valid until March 18, 2013.
