Space agency Pursue Satellite Development, It's The Reason

Satellite development efforts initiated the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN) since launch Satellite A1-Tubsat in early 2007. Middle of next year, the satellite agency to immediately launch the successor A1, the A2 satellite in India.

Then within four years after launching satellites A2, agency to plans to launch two satellites, one experimental satellite and a satellite operation. The move to create an independent satellite development.

Space agency chairman Satellite Center, Suhermanto said, the pattern of development which is undertaken by the Indonesian satellite is quite slow. This is due to the support supporting the satellite technology industry in Indonesia is very less.

"The cost is very expensive, need to support the electronics industry, metal good," said Suhermanto Satellite Center Space agency office in Bogor, Friday, August 31, 2012.

It compares with South Korea in the rapid development of the satellite. Therefore, support for good elektronikanya industry.

South Korea, he said, in the near future, be able to apply that knowledge to direct the construction of satellites from abroad. South Korea even then could improve the ability to make a rocket launcher vehicle.

In addition to supporting industry problem, at the premises tekendala satellite development by frequency regulation, both domestically and abroad frequencies. Although relatively slow development of Indonesian satellite, but Suhermanto said pattern being run fairly systematic and got recognition of other countries.

"Satellite Development here is considered good. Mozambique, Malaysia and Thailand recognizes our experience in the development of the satellite," he said.

He said the Indonesian satellite development pattern envisioned self-control satellite is gradually making. Initially the satellite development is done with knowledge transfer of technology from foreign countries, and then trying to make the software as well as hardware from within the country and by experts from Indonesia. "After the transfer of technology, the existing systems in satellites should be in our hands," he said.

Proficiency level of these systems is the reaction wheel, star sensor (a navigational satellite attitude can move the camera), camera, PCDH (Payload Handling Control Data), transmitter, coding and encoding the data transmission.

With frequent launches satellites into orbit also means that Indonesia can fill slots in outer space. According to him, really lose if slots are not filled in outer space. Therefore, the slot will be filled by the satellites of the major powers.

"In the right orbit slot pay, it is set up slot. But if it is not used, the slot can be lost, we must seize the orbital slot," he said.
