Want Patented Apple iPhone "Curved"





Wide screen with touch screen features (touchscreen)? Ah, that's normal. What about the screen that wraps nearly the entire surface of the smartphone?

This concept to be patented by Apple. The advantage is to enlarge the viewable area (viewing area) and eliminating the need for physical buttons.

As shown in the figure, the concept of imaginary future Apple devices using display technology that is planted in a curved body to the smartphone so that "wraps" the majority of the surface, including the edges.

In this way, the physical buttons can be replaced by "virtual keys" in the form of icons displayed on the screen.

According to the patent filing documents, to "wrap" the internal components in the screen, the functionality of the device can be improved so that the concept of "beyond the surface".

This design also eliminates the frame or bezel that usually surrounds the smartphone screen and slightly reduce the size of the display.

Previously, Samsung, Apple's rivals, have demonstrated that curved display technology can be applied to the concept of a smartphone. Apple also has patented similar technology, the glass screen that can be bent.
