Western Digital Makes "Hard Disk" Thin Laptop Specials



Want a laptop or Ultrabook thin but has a much larger storage capacity than models with SSD (solid state drive)? Soon maybe it could become a reality with the presence of super-slim hard drive from Western Digital's.

As quoted from PCWorld, the hard disk is a member of the WD Blue series product with the full name "WD5000MPCK". Thickness of only 5 mm, 2 mm thinner than the similar products in the market first.

As a result, the relevant hard disk can be installed in the models of super-thin Ultrabook to increase storage capacity while maintaining the price is cheaper than SSD.

During this storage choice for high-end Ultrabook super-thin confined to SSD only. Using the hard disk option is usually only available on medium Ultrabook models that have physical dimensions thicker.

Western Digital hard disk membanderol is worth 89 U.S. dollars. Technical specifications including the rotational speed of 5400 RPM, 16MB cache, and SATA 6Gbps interface. The manufacturer also plans to release a similar hard disk with a "hybrid" (combination of hard disk with SSD) WD Black series.

Western Digital has started sending WD5000MPCK to a laptop computer manufacturers. Reportedly, Acer and Asus will use the hard disk in their homemade Ultrabook line.
